Plank to Chaturanga
One of the most common transitions in any Vinyasa based yoga style, as well as a part of the cycle of Sun Salutation. Why is it so important? ๐ก it's a movement we repeat over and over again. ๐ก it can lead to some issues in the shoulders or lower back if not done carefully. ๐ก has the potential to develop useful stability and strength that benefit other transitions. In order to be able to lower down with control from Plank to Chaturanga we need a certain level of strength in

The Only Way Out is In
Dear Friend, The upcoming weeks are a perfect time for some introspection and self-reflection, to go a bit deeper into the more meditative internal forms of yoga practice. After all, yoga is meant to improve our daily life, our state of mind and wellbeing. Life primarily happens in our mind, with our thoughts and emotions playing the biggest role in how we experience life. The mind is where yoga should eventually make the biggest difference. After every morning practice I rem

Trikonasana | Triangle Pose
This pose is one of the classics and one of my favorite yoga postures. It is one of the first postures that led me to practice Asana in the "yoga way", meaning go beyond surface level experience and taste the sweet nectar of union between breath, body and mind. BNS & I (or how I found my path)
Dear Friend, Change is in the air! Feels like there is finally some light at the end of the COVID tunnel. The seasons are changing and nature is starting to bloom. There is also a war happening not too far away which is deeply heartbreaking. This is all life, constantly changing and moving along. Some things feel pleasant, good, desirable. Other things feel unpleasant, bad, undesirable. The first ones cannot exist without the latter ones. All things must pass, as George Harri

The Classic Backbends
What is a backbend really? The name can be a bit misleading since the word "back" is part of it. Bending backwards actually invites us to lengthen the front of the body as well as be actively grounded. So.. these poses should probably be called "Front Openers".. ๐ One way to approach all backbends is to lengthen the distance between the pubic bone (front of the pelvis) and sternum (top of the chest). ๐ It can be very useful to work from time to time on stretching the front

Pain, What Is It Good For..
Dear Friend, Spring is in the air and also some optimism regarding coming back (slowly) to normalcy. Keeping my fingers crossed :) A few words on the current war in Ukraine: These acts of violence in Europe are tremendously saddening. I am deeply wishing that this violence will end soon and people in Ukraine can get back to living a peaceful life. Violence is one of the main causes of human suffering according to yoga philosophy (ahiแนsฤ). It is obviously harmful to the people
