Breath Centered Yoga
Yoga Teacher Training
200 hour Breath-Centered Hatha-Vinyasa Yoga Instructor Certificate Program
A yoga teacher training course in Person, in Berlin and in English, for those who wish to deepen their personal yoga practice and dive into the wisdom of the ancient teachings of yoga, not just for those who want to teach yoga but also for anyone who feels a calling to get closer to the essence of yoga and progress towards its higher stages.
We will do a deep dive into yoga practice in all its facets, and study a diverse range of yoga related topics, from its many practical applications to the philosophy and history behind it, and also the integration of yoga into daily life which is the key to its success, being true to the origins and essential teachings of yoga while keeping a modern evidence-based open-minded approach rooted in sincere inquiry. Prepare for learning in a non-dogmatic environment that encourages you to investigate, think for yourself, and get to the bottom of things. There will be enough time between practice and study sessions for you to process and digest the material we cover. You will be encouraged to follow your interests and invest more time in topics that are closer to your heart.
The main source is T. Krishnamacharya's lineage which is a breath-centric hatha-vinyasa yoga approach that revolves around the premise that yoga should be tailored to the individual and not the other way around. That means that you will fill your toolbox with basic knowledge and understanding of the human body and yoga in all its facets so you can effectively adapt your own practice as well as the one you will eventually share with others if you choose to do so.
The standards of this course are very high and are based on many years of experience studying and practicing with the world's greatest yoga masters in India and other parts of the world. You will be offered an opportunity to explore yoga (and yourself) in a complex and profound way, however, nothing will be forced and you will be empowered to choose how far and deep you want to go. This training is Yoga Alliance® certified.

Frequently Asked Questions
How ‘advanced’ do I need to be? What if I can’t do some postures?
We ask for a minimum of 2 years of consistent practice just to make sure you have basic yoga understanding and experience, performing acrobatic positions is not what yoga is about although it has some benefit. When you will start to fully understand the essential teachings of yoga you will naturally be much more interested in progressing on other levels, not just in your postures. You will also learn how to develop a relationship with yoga postures that deepens your relationship with your body from a place of compassion and wisdom which will then make you much more skillful at guiding others. If you still have some doubts, please get in touch.
What are the requirements for getting a certification?
80% attendance is required as well as completing all course fees. You will also need to pass the final exams and assignments as well as the personal evaluation (see next question).
Please make sure you complete any missing session on your own, there will be no chance to make up for it.
What is the personal evaluation?
You will have to pass a few teaching simulations as well as a personal interview.
If at the end of the course we decide for any reason that the teaching quality does not meet the necessary standard, you will be asked to return for another evaluation when you're ready before you will be given a certificate. If there will be a need for a second re-evaluation there will be an additional fee which will be kept to a minimum. We would much prefer that no re-evaluation will be needed and will do anything we can to ensure that you meet the required standards at the end of the course.
What are the course assignments and final exams?
You will be asked to do some reading at home, write short essays on different topics, observe classes and write reviews, assist qualified teachers, do anatomy homework and more. The last weekend will also include a session in which you will take a written exam.
A certificate will be given if you meet the course requirements, attend at least 80% of the training, intergrade our feedback into your teaching and personal practice, and most importantly show sincere intention to learn and grow, recognize your strengths and weaknesses and deepen your own practice, so that we can feel confident that you are ready to teach. We will work together throughout the training so that you feel prepared and confident in your own teaching ability.
What do I do if I need to miss a session?
Contact us to get the handouts and assignments and ask a friend for their notes, feel free to get in touch if something is not clear.
What is the weekend schedule like?
Each weekend will have a slightly different schedule depending on the content of the sessions. We meet on Friday evening for a practice session (18:00-20:00), Saturday and Sunday start at approximately 9:00am and end by 18:00 at the latest.
How much time do I need to invest between each course weekend?
You will get homework in every course weekend that include some reflection, reading material, anatomy study, as well as different assignments. Later on you will be asked to practice teaching to small groups of friends or course mates, and group meetings from time to time. These can take between 5-15 hours per month, or even more depending on how much you're willing to invest. From our experience teaching previous courses, the more you put into the training the more you get out of it.
The main thing you will be asked to do is maintain a regular self practice (could be structured in any way that fits your schedule and needs), and you will be encouraged to take one class per week with Oren or another qualified teacher.
